Exciting new conservation project starting soon – St Pirans Chapel

Following on from our work at St Pirans House, we are getting close to starting a brand new project at St Pirans Chapel in Tintagel.

This beautiful local chapel is mentioned as early as the 1400’s – a true piece of cornish history, see link below for more information:

Works will include:
-Re-roofing
-New Rainwater goods to include soakaway and damp proofing work
-Restoring large amounts of the current stonework – due to the age of the building, areas have now become structurally unsound, this will include building a retaining wall to the rear of the property.
-Internally we are re-lime plastering the walls as chronic damp has set in to the plaster in place, a full decoration of the pews and all internal joinery items.
-Replacing the out of place pyro glass skylights with more suitable heritage pieces.

All in all a fantastic project for one of our site managers John L to get stuck into!
